Applications for Waterbase rope and twine treatments
  1. The material supplied is a waterbase vinyl latex coating, somewhat similar to a conventional house paint and should be handled as such.

  2. The coating will cure under ambient conditions, i.e., temperature and relative humidity. However, any increase in temperature will greatly aid the drying process. A forced hot air oven at one hundred twenty to one hundred forty (120-140) degrees F is the preferred drying method.

  3. If less build-up or less pick-up is desired, the coating may be thinned with tap water. For all standard products add up to ten (10%) percent water and for any high solid products the maximum dilution is twenty (20%). Be aware that the addition of water will reduce the amount of material deposited on the rope and will increase the drying time.

  4. Instructions and/or cautions are contained in our standard technical literature and Material Safety Data Sheet supplied to you. Mix well before using. If the product has sat any amount of time, the coating should be gently mixed to ensure that it is homogeneous. There is no catalyst or promoter present or required. The curing process is the simple evaporation of the water present in the system.  The shelf life of the product in a full tightly sealed container is at least twelve months when kept between fifty and seventy (50 - 70) degrees F, elevated temperatures can speed the degradation of the product and lower temperatures will tend to body up the coating.

  5. This product is not considered hazardous and the fumes present no toxicity hazard. However this is an industrial coating and normal hygiene practices should be adhered to.
